Writing the Crisis with Bobuq Sayed

Whether personal, social, or political, at some stage all of us will experience the walls of our lives crashing down around us. Often the feeling of helplessness can itself become immobilizing. In this class, students will experiment with somatic and literary strategies for overcoming the despair of crisis by learning how to channel that emotion onto the page to achieve their writing goals. We'll read writing produced from the context of different crises, create and workshop new work in response to prompts, and identify generative ways to access our emotive responses with words.

This is a 4-week long workshop starting on Saturday, February 17th from 2:00 PM–4:30 PM ET. This workshop is open to all writers of color.
