Dear Friend,
As we approach the end of a monumental year for Kundiman, we want to offer our gratitude for each and every one of you. The two of us created Kundiman as a space where Asian American literature could thrive, and you are all a testament to this radical possibility.
Over the years, we have been lucky to witness the work of so many talented writers through Kundiman. In addition to the work on the page, it has been a joy to see our community feed one another (remembering Chris Santiago’s mother making us adobo!), advocate for one another, and hold each other's words and deep experience.
When we were coming up as writers, lost in the world, we found support in each other. We dreamt this space into being with the hope that the next generations of Asian American writers would not have to feel so alone. Now, we’re asking you to help us sustain this nurturing space for future Asian American writers. This end of year, we want to ensure that future Fellows can receive the funding they need to attend the Retreat. Any amount that you can give to support this general scholarship fund is so deeply appreciated.
Thank you again for being in this community with us and working to build a kinder and more expansive literary world. Founding Kundiman is one of our proudest accomplishments in life, and we’re so grateful for all your support and generosity.
Sending love,
